A day in the life of a one year old

she woke up, saw her ball on the floor, pointed and said "bal"

all ready!

let's go get breakfast

I left Lily for a few seconds and she climbed on her walker
and tried standing.

not so happy waking up from a nap

Happy Birthday, Lily!

Happy Birthday, my sweet baby!  This time last year I was starting to push.  It was easily one of the worst and best days of my life.  You have been well worth all the work and exhaustion from that day and the months to come.  I never could have anticipated how much work it would be and I could never have known how much love I would feel.  Meeting you was the best moment of my life and every moment since has been amazing.  You are now walking, babbling, eating, and so many more things.  I am so proud of who you are each day and that will never change.  Thank you for letting me be your mommy!

51 weeks

This little girl had one great week with her family. I think she will enjoy her adventure in the lake for many years to come. She had a second birthday party, one more to go, and was even more spoiled. She tried pasta with curry sauce and gobbled it up. She took her first couple rides on a paddle boat, one a success and one not so much a success as it involved a good amount of crying and clinging to mom. Lily spent time with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents, and friends. She clung to her mom a good majority of the time but did have some successful time with her family too. This trip also marks the end of breastfeeding during the day for lily. I think it is safe to say that I am ready to be done with this stage as much as I have loved it. Onto sippie cups of milk for this little one.
