Snuggle?

Tonight I was putting Lily to bed and I said it was time to go to bed, but Lily replied, "no, snuggle mommy."  And there went my plan to put her to bed. How could I turn down snuggles from the girl who earlier in the night told me to go away and just got done screaming for 10 minutes for no apparent reason??  I couldn't so I snuggled. Lily is definitely getting her attitude on lately but she is still the sweetest little girl most of the time. Love her.

2 year old

The new phrase of this two year old is, "I do it."  The other morning I tried to put on her shoes and she said, "I do it."  I let her and finished getting ready.  Ten minutes later her shoes were still not on and it was time to go.  I put the shoes on while holding her down and listening to her screaming.  Fortunately most attempts at doing things on her own don't end this way and she mostly realizes her limits.  I am confident more struggles for independence are in store for us though.

Lake Life

A week with family relaxing by the lake was amazing.  We are so lucky to have such a great place to visit with such a fun group.  Lily had a blast going off the slide on the dock at Great Grandma Marcia's house, swimming with Aiden and Keena, playing with her new babies and toys, eating cheese curds, and cuddling with her grandmas.  Lily had two birthday parties with two cakes.  She was quite excited about this cake thing.  She was a champ on the long drives too.  We stopped at Culvers on the way back and Travis said he was going to go get ice cream and Lily just pointed to herself and said, "Lily!"  I guess she needed some ice cream.  We are happy to be home, but miss everyone already.
