We have a 3 year old

L

We officially have a 3 year old with all the sass, spunky, and love that comes along.  This week Lily had her first ballet class.  I asked her if she liked it and she told me, "Yeah, but I just walked around."  This was an accurate report of her participation.  The teacher told the girls to gallop one by one.  The first girl gallups with the teacher, the second girl gallops with the teacher, and Lily, well she just walks across the room with the teacher.  She participated in every activity by just walking.  So we have some work to do in ballet.  We also went to the splash pad and Lily had a blast.  She ran around like a mad woman.  Every day at some point I want to bang my head on the wall and also laugh so hard my stomach hurts, so I would say that the good really does outweigh the bad of age 3 so far.

Happy 3rd Birthday!

What an amazing year!  This year was full of many firsts and it has been amazing to watch you grow.  You got to see the ocean for the first time in Florida, learned to use the potty, played soccer, went camping, went hiking, pretended to be a ninja turtle, made up your own yoga poses, sang songs, read us books, went on a 42 hour car trip to Wisconsin with no electronics, saw a full solar eclipse, met some goats, road on a paddleboard, and became the coolest girl I have ever met.  You are kind, silly, inquisitive, shy, sweet, and cuddly.  My favorite thing is when you spontaneously say, "Mommy, I love you!"  We got back from our trip to Wisconsin and when I told you that I had the best time on vacation with you, your response was, "I had the best time on vacation with you mommy!"  My eyes teared up because you are just so sweet.  You love your family and had such a wonderful visit to Wisconsin.  I am not sure anyone compares with Keena though.  Celebrating with family in Wisconsin and then with a camping trip with your best friend was perfect.  Anna told us that she belongs in the water so I asked you if you belong in the water and you responded, "no."  I then asked if you belong in the mountains and you said "yes!"  I think that is true my love.  You are a mountain girl at heart.  I can't wait to show you more of the world and for our next year of adventures.  You are perfect, don't ever change!
