18 Months

Big Girl time

Ready for yoga class!

I finally found a way for Lily to paint where she doesn't get mad; using cars.  She gets mad when her hands are dirty and this keeps the mess mostly on the cars.  New words this week are monkey, stay, and hat.  She learned stay because that is what we tell Addie.  Lily is starting to drink from a big girl cup and we have fully weaned her from the pacifier.  She is ready to be a toddler.  She is also asserting herself more lately; she has one pair of shoes that she insists she wears everyday.  This little girl is convinced she is big now.

This girl loves the sun

This weekend Lily wanted to spend every second outside.  She also wanted to play fetch with Addie all day long.  I could not keep her inside and Addie didn't see to mind at all.  Lily played outside with Addie for about 20 minutes while we sat inside and watch.  Then we heard her crying so I went to see what had happened and found that she stepped in dog poop.  I took off her shoe and carried her inside to discover that is was also on her hands because she used her hand to smeared it on my face.  We got all cleaned up and I still smelled poop and sure enough Lily also pooped.  What a fun Sunday.  New words this week are stick, nana (banana), mouth, teeth, night night.  She also started using two word combos; bye daddy and night night doggie (she says this when we read Go Dog Go! and the dogs go to bed.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The super bowl, the museum, a birthday party, and <3 day; an eventful week. Lily has been quite the little handful the last two weeks and just when I convince myself she must be hitting a brat phase she turns it around and has such an amazing day. She was sweet, chatty, content, and cuddly; the perfect angel. I guess I can deal with a little bit of difficult if it reminds me how lucky we are to have a sweet agreeable girl. New words this week are Heather, Maggie,   Happy Valentine's Day!

No!

Lily's new word this week is "No!"  She has been shaking and nodding her head for awhile to indicate preference, but this week she started saying no and it is apparently her new favorite word.  She loves to tell us just what she wants.  Do you want to eat-NO!  Do you want to get dressed-NO!  Do you want to change your diaper-NO!  The other discovery this week is how much Lily loves putting babies in blankets.  I saw her do this at daycare and the staff said she does it constantly.  She has babies at home and never touches them so I pulled out some old baby blankets and sure enough she found every baby and stuffed animal she has and they are all swaddled.  She carries them all over the house.  Lily continues to practice her downward dog and she got a new yoga mat this weekend from Grandma!  It is fair to say she was slightly excited.  New words this week are No, Yeah, Lily, Anna (more like An or Annie), and apple.
