16 Months

My happy little peanut is 16 months old today.  Some days I want to freeze time so she will never change and other days I want her to get older so she will learn to pick up her damn toys.  I walked into the house today and I thought maybe a tornado had hit.  There were toys, shoes, even tupperware thrown across my living room floor.  Then in the corner a giant car.  When did my living room turn into a playroom?  I can't help but laugh and just think of all the fun she has every day playing and making a huge mess.  I know that someday I will miss that giant mess so I will remind myself of that and cherish every chaotic second.

I must also share that in the picture above I took about 20 pictures and told Lily to go sit by the tree about ten times.  She obeyed every single time and sat with a smile.  Whose kid does that?!?!

Merry Christmas!

I want to skype!!

Lily got very spoiled for Christmas!  She has so many new toys to play with. She got to skype three times between Christmas Eve and Christmas and now she is asking to skype all day long. I think she thinks that is the new normal. Lily also enjoyed all the eating Christmas involves. Above she is having second breakfast-like father like daughter. So thankful for all the fun this year watching her and I can't wait to see what future Christmases will bring.

Lights Everywhere!

Every morning and evening, the first thing Lily does when we walk into the living room is point to the tree so that we will turn on the lights.  She gets so happy when you turn them on.  We took Lily to see lights at Hudson Gardens.  She was cold and very serious, but she looked at every light.  It was so sweet.

I can't resist remembering the Christmas tradition that Lily does not like as well.  :)  Oh Santa, maybe next year.

Farts are funny.

snow day!

We are raising some little lady.  Every time she or her dad fart she busts out laughing, which makes us laugh and the cycle continues.  I suppose this may make her appealing to the boys down the road?  The week started out with a stomach bug for mommy and ended with a stomach bug for daddy.  Fortunately we had fun in between.  We had a snow day on Tuesday and spent the day inside snuggling until daddy's work closed early and he thought we should go sledding.  Lily was very serious the entire time and didn't know what to think.  She went down three times and then cried and told us she was all done.  She was a pretty good sport as it was very cold.  Another fun day was Saturday morning when Lily spent the morning running around the house.  Then grandma called and I told Lily I was talking to grandma and she pointed to the television (this is where she skypes with people).  She got to skype with both of her grandparents and she was SO excited!  On to another week and hoping for s healthy family for Christmas.

daddy and Lily night to the DU hockey game!

Lily had a busy week.  Wednesday, she had a holiday party at day care.  We got to the party in time to watch Lily decorate a graham crackers which involved her eating frosting with a popsicle stick.  She was having a blast!  Then we took her to see Santa, which she did not think was quite as good of an idea.  It went about as I expected, lots of screaming.  Later that night Lily got a tummy bug which involved puking on both of her parents and then finally in a puke bowl.  I was quite impressed that she seemed to know just what to do once we got a bowl out for her.  She was feeling better the next morning.  She also managed to pass the bug along to mommy over the weekend.  Over the weekend Lily got to see our friends Wade, Jen, and Matthew and they took her to a hcokey game with daddy.  It was daddy and Lily night out to her first sporting event and daddy reported that she did great and even watched some of the game.  Taking a noisy girl to a public event seems to always go fine as she just wants to know what everyone else is doing.  Lily also got a new monkey chair from our friends and all day she has been petting and kissing it.
