22 Months

I listed to a song the other day about being a mommy or daddy called, "Slow Down" and it was amazing and perfectly describes many of my feelings about being a mommy.  I hope my perfect and sweet girl always knows how full she makes my heart.  Love you baby!

"Slow Down"
Here’s to you
You were pink or blue
And everything I wanted
Here’s to you
Never sleeping through
From midnight till the morning
Had to crawl before you walked
Before you ran
Before I knew it
You were trying to free your fingers from my hand
‘Cause you could it on your own now somehow

Slow down
Won’t you stay here a minute more
I know you want to walk through the door
But it’s all too fast
Let’s make it last a little while
I pointed to the sky and now you wanna fly
I am your biggest fan
I hope you know I am
But do you think you can somehow
Slow down

Here’s to you
Every missing tooth
Every bedtime story
Here’s to Barbie cars, light saber wars
Sleeping in on Sunday
Had to crawl
Before you walked
Before you ran
Before I knew it
You were teaching me
The only thing love can
Hold hands through it
When it’s scary, you’ve got me

Slow down
Won’t you stay here a minute more
I know you want to walk through the door
But it’s all too fast
Let’s make it last a little while
I pointed to the sky and now you wanna fly
I am your biggest fan
I hope you know I am
But do you think you can somehow
Slow down

Please don’t roll your eyes at me
I know I’m embarrassing
But someday you’ll understand
You’ll hold a little hand
Ask them if they can

I am your biggest fan
I hope you know I am
But do you think you can
Somehow
Slow down
Slow down

What made you happy today?

One of my girlfriends told me that each night before bed she asks her daughter what made her happy that day.  I love this and I have started to ask Lily this question some nights.  Last night I said what made you happy today and she responded, "You!"  I think my heart may have burst.  She is such a sweetie.  This week we went to the Wild Animal Sanctuary, for a hike, and to the pool along with many trips to the park.  Lily rode her new bike in front of the house, but would only go down about one or two houses before she was done with that.  At the park she has been very into pushing mommy or daddy down the slide.  She gets to the top of the equipment and says "push" and "mommy's turn."  She will push me and the she says, "Lily's turn!"  It is so sweet and fun.  She is going through a pretty good stage right now as well with routines.  She is so much easier to get ready in the morning and she has it down that she plays at the park for a little while and them we say bye park with no tantrums.  Hoping this stage will last awhile!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's day!  I am so thankful each day that I see Travis with Lily as I know I chose the right partner in life.  I chose the right partner for me and I chose the right father for my little girl.  I know Lily will always feel the love and pride her daddy has for her and that makes my heart so happy.  This week was a long and lovely week.  We started with our trip back to Denver; our flight was delayed and then canceled so we got to spend 7 hours at the airport.  Lily managed to poop all over herself so I sat rinsing her clothes in the airport bathroom sink.  I really can't complain much though as Lily was awake until 11 pm and didn't cry once.  We did finally made it back to Denver and back to reality.  A few first happened this week; Lily's first swear words and Lily went pee on her potty!  I guess one is a little more positive than the other, but both were pretty entertaining.
