I playing

Tonight I asked Lily if she wanted to go sit on the potty and she looked at me as if I was a crazy person and said, "no mommy, I playing."  Well excuse me!

Who needs to know the words?

Tonight Lily was pretending to be a frog and hopping around the house.  She then found her broom and was cleaning the house with mommy.   She just loves finding fun all night long.  But her real fun lately has been singing.  We went for a long run/walk on a trail near us and Lily sang at the top of her lungs for at least half the time.  She loves to sing Twinkle Twinkle and Wheels on the Bus.  My absolute favorite is when she sings Wheels on the bus as the lyrics go like this, "wheels on the bus go round and round, people shhh, shhh."  I think she thinks the bus driver is telling the people on the bus to be quiet and I really hope she never learns how to sing it correctly.  It is just the best.

Explore

I took Lily for a hike by myself on Sunday while Travis went mountain biking.  I carried her in the pack for awhile and then let her walk.  This was not a great idea as she mostly just stopped to play in the dirt.  She told me she was making a fire, cooking pasta, and a few other things.  She was much more interested in playing in the dirt than going for an actual hike.

Lily also had a nice day going to the pumpkin festival with her buddies, Matthew and Anna.  Lily is absolutely obsessed with Anna, but that night Lily told me several times that she likes Matthew and Matthew picked a pumpkin.  She loved getting to spend time with her friends and she is so excited about her pumpkin.  She talks about her pumpkin everyday.  She danced to the music, got a halloween tattoo, ate bbq, and picked her pumpkin.  It was a lovely day!

"Go to sleep!"

"Addie, go to sleep!"

Last week it was just Lily and mommy as daddy was on a work trip.  We survived the week and Friday morning we celebrated our success by going to get bagels.  We are them on the couch while watching tv.  It was wonderful.  Lily went to school eventually, but we made it a lazy day.  Saturday we went for a hike to see the leaves changing in the mountains.  Lily loves riding in her backpack on hikes.  We took her for a hike on Saturday and when we got back we left the backpack in the garage.  Each time she sees it she tells us how it is Lily's backpack and she wants to go in her backpack.  We had to share that unfortunately we will not be carrying her everywhere.

On Sunday Lily had more entertainment for the day.  She spent the entire morning putting Addie to bed.  She would yell at Addie to lay down and then she would cover her with a blanket when Addie finally gave in.  She would then read her a book or just yell at her to "go to sleep!"  What a good mommy.
